Internet connectivity troubleshooting
I need some common methods for troubleshooting Internet connectivity. I have a computer that runs on Windows 7. It has a network of some 4 PC all running on windows 7. Sometime my internet breaks in between and causes fluctuation. I tried to check out some connections and contact the ISP but then it goes normal for some time and again the same issue lies. How to troubleshoot some basic problems of computer. What are the areas to be checked under this problem.

With the technology available today, the Internet connection can be established in several ways. They are Remote right to enter Server, Network Address Translation (NAT), Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and a direct link using a device like a modem or network card. You can make out this check list and see where the problem lies . But seeing them one by one you can troubleshoot the same.

This approach might be better to start solving the trouble of the client machine, but only if they can identify the trouble fairly quickly. If not, you can find by browsing through various network paths to the client machine. You can start to troubleshoot Internet connectivity on the client end and then move towards the server. While this troubles solving approach seems the best, from the client machine can have its hiccups, and is slower than starting from the server side.
