Can't connect to internet after restart
Hi everybody,

Yesterday after being forced to shut down my notebook pc manually, turning it back not Connected to the Internet. After some research I find that missing a file in the symantec folder. it takes a very long time to power on. Any idea? I'm on windows 7.

It should boot from the CD to start (set the bios if necessary) then either you install Windows 7, or you put a Linux live CD to test your connection. you can not uninstall symantec otherwise?

Not exactly seen as the missing file belongs to Symantec it is impossible to uninstall.

And if I put the Windows 7 cd without formatting the hard disk installation will format completely or i'll still have my files?

Launching the installation you will get "I think" the choice between an upgrade to Windows 7 or installation after formatting (as the CD you have). Formatting will erase all your data including therefore to symantec also. Try to boot from linux cd and c of internet works over there or not. May be faulty of connection.

Agree the only worry is that when I run the cd having windows 7 it opens the cd but not read and I see lots of files which is used to install?

Should not open it with windows but start over. Shut down and restart with the cd in the drive. If it does not mean that it should not set the bios to boot from the CD, another trick: Test your Installation CD with virtual box.
