Bharti in tie-up with Transcend

Bharti Teletech, one of India's leading manufacturers and distributors of telecom and allied products, on Wednesday said it has entered into a strategic alliance with Transcend Information Inc, a leading global player in the memory accessories business.

Transcend would be able to leverage Bharti Teletech's extensive retail network of over 36000 retailers spread across 3600 Towns in the country. The alliance will place Bharti and Transcend in a strong position to capitalise on the increasing demand for telecom and IT accessories in the Indian market, it was stated.

Under the alliance, Bharti Teletech will sell and distribute the entire portfolio of Transcend products in India, the company said in a statement.

“The partnership with Transcend will enable Bharti Teletech to strengthen its position as the leading distributor of allied telecom and technology products in the country. Our understanding of the Indian market coupled with our extensive distribution reach is a perfect match for Transcend’s growth strategy in India,” said Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Bharti Teletech on the deal.
